Babak Castle

Babak Castle

It is located at 5 kilometers southwest of the city of Kalibar and stands on a top of 2600 meters high from the sea level. Around the castle there are cliffs and valleys and has a single access road. It was from this castle that Babak-e Khorramdin and his companions fought for 22 years against the troops of the Abbasid caliphate. The findings found show that in the sixth and seventh centuries of the lunar ecyre the castle was the center of the government of the area.
